 Besides, deinterlacing is only appropriate when displaying interlaced
 content on a progressive display.  As it isn't deinterlacing progressive
 content (which it isn't), then the deinterlacing setting shouldn't change
 unless the monitor type changes.  In general, the display should either be
 always interlaced or always progressive, unless you're changing displays
 on a per-program basis.  There may be some displays which might be able to
 switch between modes depending on content, but in that case, you would not
 need to ever deinterlace content since the monitor would switch
 appropriately on its own, so the deinterlace setting would always stay
 off.
