 As the level of interest on the -dev list suggests, this is an area of
 contention between long-time users and people starting with Mythtv.

 Myth doesn't work too well with the current default - It takes >4s per
 channel change, making channel hopping painful. I can't see any drawbacks
 with defaulting browse mode to on.
