 I see the same problem, and it is especially noticeable with HD (since the
 baseball playoffs are on, and they allocate three hours per game, but they
 run longer).

 I didn't run either the frontend or backend with verbose enabled, but I
 will do so for the upcoming games to get more information on what the
 problem is.  I don't get a black screen, I instead get a still frame of
 what was last on the screen, and I have to restart LiveTV to get things
 going again.

 That said, I do have some snippets of the frontend and backend logs (The
 program guide listing changed from "MLB Baseball" to "Cheers" at 7:30PM),
 which I am attaching (jvlogs.txt).

 Note that I am not using NFS between the frontend and the backend, I'm
 using the MythTV streaming protocol.  I find that it seems to perform
 better than NFS, even with the various parameters specified in the Wiki.
