 I have a PVR350 and PVR500 and neither of them have this problem.  Is it a
 problem in the recording or a problem in the playback?  You can check this
 by using something like mplayer to play the livetv recorded file.

 I did have a problem which might be consistent with this once with
 playback and that was that when first starting mythtv analog sound did not
 work.  This was a problem with outputing without a mixer.  I added a mixer
 software mixer to my .asoundrc and the problem went away.
