 (In [13912]) Refs #3326. Avoids SEGFAULT when monitoring the signal.

 We set the Recorder's RingBuffer to NULL when monitoring signal strength
 because we don't want to write to disk during this time, these changes
 make sure that we don't segfault (this NULL pointer check was done
 elsewhere before multirec.)
