 I finally resolved a very frustrating problem where it did not seem like
 my setting for "allow auto-transcode" in a recording profile was
 effective.  It seems that when I pressed "alt-n" and "alt-f" to advance
 through the screens, it was not effective. When I moved the highlight to
 the "next" and "finish" buttons and pressed enter, it worked as expected.

 This is MythTV 0.20.1-156 in MythDora 4, using the frontend with a single
 backend on the localhost.  The single capture device is a Plextor ConvertX
 (MPEG4 USB capture), in case that is somehow relevant.
