 Can you try the patch I just attached with the current svn trunk. When
 testing your patch I also noticed that if you use different separators
 such as "_" for one set of channels and "." for another set prevents smart
 channel changing from working, so you need to wait for the channel change
 OSD to fade out or hit the select key for the channel change to take
 effect.
