 The gallery view was very frustratng/slow, especially when using bigger
 row/col counts. This patch updates the display in the middle of a screen
 refresh if it's taking a long time to load the covers, and also lets you
 move the cursor and/or go to another page before it's done. Much more
 responsive to the user.
