 hint:  Fedora 12 uses pulseaudio by defualt.   either uninstall/disable
 pulse audio somehow or run this command in yor shell before starting your
 frontend from the same terminal:
 export EXPERIMENTALLY_ALLOW_PULSE_AUDIO=1
