 Do you think it could be related to sound hardware? When sound is disabled
 in mythfrontend setup the recording plays perfectly.

 I have been using coaxial spdif output on my SB Audigy4 value, and also
 tried removing the Audigy4 and trying analog output on my onboard card. It
 seemed like the stuttering and lag got worse with the onboard card..

 Any suggestions?
