 this is with a Intel Mobile 915GM on an Asus eee 900
 i'm using xf86-video-intel-2.1.1 on gentoo

 what more information can i provide?

 i also see something similar on another notebook which has an ATI graphics
 chip.
 i also get a message about missing visuals and have searched for meaning
 around that. from what i can see, it is not causing problems, but i'm not
 sure.
