 Mac OS X frontend, on a Mac Mini Core Duo 1.66GHz,   OSX 10.5.6

 Playback settings page 4/10 has an option to "Display live preview of
 recordings",  regardless that setting being on or off I never get the live
 preview in the recording selection screen (I do get the static preview
 image).

 But, if that setting is enabled, my CPU goes up to 25-35% (HD recordings)
 when I'm on that screen.

 So, it appears that even though it's not displayed, the video is still
 decoded.
