Log:

Remove some old FFmpeg build hacks that aren't needed.
1) I think external -lz has been replaced by optimised LZO decompression.
2) The Mac OS -single_module flag is supposedly now the default
(although I suspect it just hides link problems like symbol visibility?).
3) The segment address stuff was a runtime load speedup thingy (in 10.3?).
Didn't seem to work for me, and having the packager run rebase is easier.
Tested on Intel Mac OS 10.4.11 and 10.5.6, and Debian (with ld -as-needed)
