 I wasn't really proposing more work for the devs to keep the tarball up-
 to-date.  While an automated process for generating the tarball could be
 instituted, it seems unnecessary considering the ease of subversion use.

 This can be easily resolved with the attached patches which suggest minor
 change to the documentation (some of which would be helpful regardless of
 an automated tarball generation).

 Sorry for the gziped files - trac rejected the submissions because it
 contains URL's.
