 I am running MythTV using Mythbuntu 64 bit on an Athlon 2800 with 2 gig of
 RAM & a HD Homerun TV tuner. Live TV works fine, but any scheduled
 recorded files are empty.

 I have formatted the hard drive & re-installed a number of times, mostly
 using Ubuntu 9.04 & then installing Myth TV with fixes, (needed for the HD
 Homerun to work in Australia)& the problem always exists. My brother who
 is a Unix systems adminstrator & longtime MythTV user cannot see the
 reason for the problem & no-one on the MythTV users list has been able to
 offer a solution
