 No - that does not fix it.  In fact I don't think that the drive speed
 adjustment is working at all.  When I watch the pattern of the drive light
 it doesn't change no matter whether the speed is set to 2 or 12.  And
 there's an extremely obvious difference between mplayer (much faster light
 flickers) and mythtv.
