#8315: Configuring Backend: Channel Search Fails To Find Any Channels
--------------------------------------+-------------------------------------
Reporter: i_chesworth@… | Owner: danielk
Type: defect | Status: new
Priority: minor | Milestone: unknown
Component: MythTV - Channel Scanner | Version: 0.23rc1
Severity: medium | Mlocked: 0
--------------------------------------+-------------------------------------
I have a new, clean Mythbuntu installation running MythTV 0.23 RC1.
Everything is configured appropriately and the 3 Hauppauge USB (a NOVA-TD
and a NOVA-T) tuners have been correctly detected and configured.
Running "Scan For Channels" when configuring the backend fails to detect
any DVB channels - It just runs through the Channel 5 - Timeout, Channel 6
- Timeout..... and so on for some 50 channels or so.
Running the "scan" tool with the exact same adapter (0 in this case)
detects 3 different multiplexes and the corresponding 13/14 channels.
Saving the output to a channels.conf and importing that into the backend
works correctly.
During the import of channels.conf, the backend will tune to the multiplex
and agree there is a channel there. Later on, the frontend correctly
connects to each channel on each multiplex.
I have had channels correctly detected during setup of a 0.21 backend
(some time previously). This system is based in Melbourne, Australia;
should that have any impact on the problem.
