 The general user workaround seems to be to switch off monitoring of
 drives. This prevents the mount command from being run in the first place
 and so avoids the segfault. It certainly worked for me. However, the
 problem people might have is that they can't get the front end running
 long enough to get to the set screen and switch off monitoring. For those
 who have phpMyAdmin running against your mythtv database (strongly
 recommended) this will not be an issue.

 Select the mythconverg database
 Select the settings table
 select the Search tab
 In the values box add %MonitorDrives%
 Run the search
 edit all the rows that have the data value 1, to 0

 This should prevent the instant segfault.
