Component: MythTV - Video Playback | Version: 0.22

Comment(by markk):

 DVD subtitle colours are chosen from a specific palette (or CLUT - Color
 Look Up Table) when being played from a DVD. When the DVD is converted to
 another format (e.g. Matroska), the CLUT is unavailable and hence ffmpeg
 makes a best guess for a reasonable palette to use. For some reason, this
 is based on shades of yellow. ffplay has the same problem.

 I haven't tracked down where in the mplayer code the correction is made
 but, assuming the ffmpeg selection is deliberate, the fix is to use our
 own palette when playing dvd subtitles and the container is not a dvd
 filesystem.
