Log:

When pausing video output to access GUI (e.g. EPG from Recordings),
hide that video rectangle so users can actually see the GUI and popups.
Seems to only be a problem on Mac OS X. Refs #6211.
Hopefully negates Christoph's part1.patch.
(also contains some whitespace and comment changes)
