 Well, it would seem that the fix for mythtv would be to move the current
 timeline to what would be called a "variable timeline".   Then display to
 the user a static timeline which the current position displayed on the
 ticker would be

 Starttime=0,casted as time, Endtime=100(Displayed ffmpeg endtime),
 currentPosition=((framenumber/totalframes*100)*endtime)casted as time.
 This would create a 100 point resolution for the ticker and display the
 proper end time.
