seem to indicate that the UDisks package is not installed. Without this
package, the media monitor (which is what performs the eject) cannot
detect new media.
After installing the UDisks package, you can probably set the DVD device
back to 'default'.
Installing the package should also make MythFrontend start up quicker (see
also http://www.gossamer-threads.com/lists/mythtv/users/514400)
