 Not only does this fix the problem of the garbage lines at the bottom of
 the screen, it also fixes the problem with the glitch at the 2-second
 mark.

 I suspect the resolution was changing at the 2-second mark, causing the
 glitch, since that's when the garbage would appear, not before.  This is
 just speculation on my part, of course.
