 @Nicolas: Very interesting - even though i don't understand much of your
 explanations.

 But on thing: I opened this ticket concerning MPEG2-Video with MP2-Audio
 in SD resolution and a lossless (MPEG2-to-MPEG2 with MP2Audio-to-MP2Audo
 and/or AC3-to-AC3) transcoding. I think that you talk about HD-material
 (you say you have mpeg4+mp3).

 I'm not sure if these two things are 100% related.
