There are many possible configurations.  You could run two completely
separate X servers, one per card.  You could run one X server with two
"screens" (this is called multi-head).  Or, you could run one X server and
combine the two displays into one virtual "screen" (this is called
Xinerama).

If you run a single X server, everything works as you would expect.  If you
run two, I'm not sure, as I've only used a multi-X-server configuration with
a single display adapter.
