That depends on your setup and the amount of line noise....

Also it's usually much easier to bypass the cm-11a completely when using a 
remote and just go with the RF Transceiver module like the TM751.

That's what the X10 mouseremote is for, It has a serial RF receiver to get 
commands from the remote.
