[mythtv] Is it possible to install mythtv to a PC without a TV card and use as a "client"

If you don't need to watch 'live' tv remotely, this
shouldn't be a problem at all.. I'm fairly sure the
stored files (mpg4 at least) are standard format. You
can probably even open them up via windows and a samba
share if samba is set up on your mythtv server.

Specifing a //smb/dir wouldn't work, but you could
probably mount samba shares beforehand, then use the
mountpath (ie /mnt/samba/media or where-ever you put
it) instead.

(mount -t smbfs)

Speaking of which..
It'd be cool if you could get some sort of web
interface to the media store with links in
http://host/dir/file.ext format so folks could stream
via http. If this is already in place, then ignore me
:)
