What distribution are you using?  If it's not Mandrake 9.0, please
get with the distribution documentation maintainer and let them know
what you had to do.  Since I don't run any other distro I'm not sure
what would be in a standard install.

What wouldn't compile without the perl-devel and the XFree libs?
