[mythtv] Stop then Go?

Has anyone seen/heard of this:
(This is from a recent CVS build - last updated about 2 days ago):
About every 20-30 seconds the video s-l-o-w-s down for about 2-3 seconds
& then gets going again.
Doesn't matter which codec I use nor the quality settings for the
codec.  Did not see this behavior with the .7 release.
Ideas?
