[mythtv] good ir receiver for mythtv

Hi,

So I went cheap and got a creative infra remote control for my set top box:

assuming that I could ditch the creative remote, and just use my own remote
control instead and program lirc to work properly. No luck, the system only
works with the supplied remote (which if you are happy with, is a great deal
for $8.00).  Only thing I can find on lirc to confirm this is:

Does anyone have any recommendations for a good ir serial receiver (don't need
transmiter) that will work with a universal remote?
