if they ported mplayer to os x eh? http://mplayerosx.sourceforge.net/  i 
haven't tried to patch it yet but in plays my other files pretty well.  

on a side note, i wish there were a better website with listing of good 
mac/unix based software for free, i had trouble because mplayer didn't 
have any refernce to this and fink didn't have it when i used apt-get.
