It is exactly that.  What's the point in replacing one arbitrary format with
another?  xiph.org doesn't support this stuff.

Regardless of whether or not the codec is ready performance-wise, if the
resulting stream format meets MythTV's needs, it will be worth
investigating for use with existing codecs.  But it isn't ready, and won't
be soon.
