Im using xebian 0.5.1 with most the stuff myth needs built from source.  
I have no need to use xbv to adjust anything.  I use fbset to setup my 
fb.  I also have video=xbox:800x600,nohwcursor,tv=NTSC in my append line 
for the kernel and no rivafb or xboxfb line.

video plays back just as well as when using X.  The big advantage is 
startup time.  From the login prompt to myth is only about 8 secs w/o 
the init of X being needed.

My eventual goal is a single xbe to launch myth from the dashboard.
