Great info.  I wonder if the white box people have mentioned is used by
only certain channels/networks.  My wife has been watching recorded programs
using MythTV tonight and my blank-detection code is catching the
end-of-commercial breaks on shows off NBC fine, but for some shows of FOX,
it misses about half the stuff because FOX isn't putting any kind of blank
frames between their adverts and the show.  I think the procedure I
described in another email about checking around 15 second intervals will
help catch these.
