I was able to gather a little more data on my problem. I am using DMA on
the HD. It seems like it must be a driver or config problem. Here are
the symptoms:

When using recording using hardware compression, decimation 2, quality
100, the video is jerky, jumps horizontally once every 2-3 seconds, and
isn't quite vertically aligned. When I switch to decimation 1, quality
100, the video is green and jerky.

All software encoding schemes work flawlessly. Xawtv works flawlessly.

Decoding works perfectly in myth.

When using software encoding, CPU usage is usually around 60% (320x240
RTJPEG quality=170). When using hardware encoding, CPU usage is usually
around 7%.

Has anyone had similar problems?

Peter
