Is that the msp3400 from mgavideo or the one built along with the kernel's 
bttv stuff?  Check to see if there is an msp3400.o in 
/lib/modules/<version>/kernel/drivers/media/video/

If so it's probably being loaded instead of the msp3400 from mgavideo, which 
is the one you want.
