http://pear.php.net/manual/en/package.html.php#package.html.html-template-it

(HTML/IT is installed as part of the php4-pear package in Debian, other
distributions I assume have comparable packages)

I've got a large existing base of code using it that I could hook you
up with if you'd like to see it used in more than a "hello world" type
scenario. An example site that uses it is my
created-it-just-for-the-fun-of-writing-it-and-never-used-it blog at
http://blog.wang-fu.org/

Again, it may not turn out to be the thing for you, but it's probably
worth taking a gander at. Personally, I enjoy using them because it's
allowed me to _completely_ remove HTML from my PHP code, keeping it nice
and separate in other files.

I daydreamed that I was falling and just before I hit the ground, I
fell asleep.
