hi,

i've been lurking ... and preparing to build a system

got a pvr-250.

had some other parts laying around.

so ... i'm trying to get some things going.

i have hit a roadblock in an unexpected place.

i have an old TiVO (Sony) that starting having video problems.

it's been sitting on a shelf for a while.

i thought i would re-purpose the drive that is in it for Myth.

it is a quantum fireball lct 15.

the problem is, my PC won't see that drive as being any larger than ~9GB.

i have done a fair bit of poking around on the net about this.

a) other people have apparently tried as i have to do this, and met with a
similar issue.

b) i was unable to actually find a response to any of the queries i found that
seemed promising, other than the standard BIOS/LBA/translation issues.

i don't think that is the issue here as i have another big drive in the
machine.

perchance, has anyone on the list seen any info on this ?

i have seen some fleeting commentary on the net as it relates to TiVO HD's as
being "locked" ... ?
