| recover from this), I think my system has been overheating, and something

Hey, Geoff, quick note for you: I've been having overheat problems with
my system (1.3GHz Athlon from when that was the top-of-the-line Athlon).
I've found that powering down, pulling the fan, cleaning all the thermal
grease, applying a fresh spat of it, and reseating the fan does wonders
for my system. Maybe it'll help you?

Oh, and before anybody says that doesn't matter, it does to my system:
Day before I did it, half an hour of recording was crashing the system.
Re-encoding (using mythmkmovie) was crashing the system. Transcoding did
it too. Day after I did it, 9 hours straight of re-encoding didn't crash
the system. It matters.
