[mythtv] [PATCH] Channel preset hack

There are a couple of reasons why we cannot join the rest of the world (=
USA?):
1. some cable companies (like mine) are even able to transmit two
"channels" on one channel. i.e. NL1 is transmitted on channel 46- and NL2
on 46+. So if I type 46 on my remote, what would I get?
2. every city has its own frequency table. At home I would type 46(-) for
NL1 and at my parents I would have to type 23...
3. we even have channels which are not identified by numbers alone: we also
have programs on E2, as well as on channel 2 (so again, what would I get
when I press '2'.
4. European TV's do not expect channels, but presets: channels can only be
entered in the menu, not directly from the remote. Some TV's do not even
care about channel numbers, They just use the frequency. (I know, MythTV
should not be compared with a TV, but I would appreciate it when I could
type the same numbers on my remote to see the same channels)

So, I am afraid your recommendation should go to the cable companies, but
until they change (and they never will), we are not able to join the rest
of the world.

I am sorry, but that is the situation here...
Marc
