The database side of things seems fine except maybe the data contained in
chanid and channum is swapped, but that doesn't really matter. What needs to
happen is that the user interface be based on "chanid". ie how channels are
selected by remote control, keyboard, displayed etc. This should be numeric,
just like it is on a remote control. A TV Station gets mapped to a numeric.
That way you put the first 10 popular stations on 0 - 9. You get simple 1
keypress action to view your 10 most popular channels. You display (chanid +
name) for Europe, (chanid+short name) could be a usefull option, (chanid +
channum) for North America. Recorded files could maybe be named
(name+starttime+endtime) but that is no big deal as the actual file name is
un-important to the user. Everything else is basically done by channum for
everybody. ie contrast settings, internal future recordings etc.

- From my tests in the current cvs version, all station selection seems to be
done on channum. ie number selection doesn't work, only up/down arrows work.
