I just placed a new version of this patch at 
http://68.6.110.146:8080/mythpatches/mythtv-patch-2.
The new version puts the behavior Isaac doesn't like (changing the channel 
without hitting select) under a config option.  I also added support for 
favorite channels to browse mode. Just hit '/' while in browse mode to 
browse through your favorite channels.
