Not an uncommon situation, C4 here in New Zealand does the same
thing. While not completely off-air (IIRC they broadcast a test
pattern-like image along with audio from some radio station), between
sometime after midnight and about 1pm there's nothing actually scheduled,
and the listings reflect this.
