Also, I suspect that it may be better in the long run to look at 
integrating something like Zina (well not that one, but another one) 
instead of the current code?

I did a search a while back and there is some really nice preexisitng 
stuff, often driven from a DB with playlist stuff and album art 
already.  Probably would just need the DB schema tweaking
