[mythtv] db autoupdate, how?

I'm thinking about moving the php session info to the db, along with 
possibly some other things (drawing a blank at the moment)

Sounds like stuff mythweb should handle internally.  Do you just store 
the db version in the settings table?  I'd like to create a similar 
setting for mythweb (and probably nuvexport) if I'm going to keep track 
of it internally.
