[mythtv] Mac OS X can't connect to remote database

Database privileges would be my first guess.  This certainly doesn't seem
like a MythTV problem; try connecting with the MySQL command line client
(mysql -h 143.238.2.191 -u <user> -p <database name>) and when you get that
working, MythTV is likely to work as well.
