[mythtv] Focus problems with Myth & Xine

Has anyone tried using xine (rather than the usual mplayer) as their DVD
player in mythdvd? I have found two problems:-

1) If I use xv as the xine output video driver, after using it all the
other video output from myth is simply black (sound still comes through
though). I need to reset the X server to fix this. This does not occur
if I use xshm instead of xv though.

2) After using xine, the keys don't work in any of the "form" pages in
myth. The only key that does work is Escape. Curiously I found that if I
go into the EPG, one key will work, but the second press will not
(escape still does though). However if I press Return as that first key
in the EPG and go into the next screen, if I escape out of there,
everything fixes itself.

So is there some sort of explicit reset that is performed when you leave
the recording selection of the EPG?
