This doesn't seem right somehow.

I feel like Mute should always be a toggle between
sound and no sound.  

We should just have a way to cycle through audio
channels.  And if this PoorMansSAP setting is on, then
cycling through the audio channels means we should
cycle between normal stereo, Left channel plays on
both speakers, and Right channel plays on both
speakers.

It just seems like overloading the mute button make
the mute button less useful.
