Because it is often deleted by the auto expire... I set it to keep no
more than say, 6 episodes, but for example we get like 12+ showings of
friends a week here (reruns). And a Simpsons episode most days (when
it's on). And I don't have that much time to watch tv...
So I like the idea that the ones I watch and manually delete disappear,
and the others get re-recorded next time because effectively I didn't
actually record them (by not watching them...)
Also, for films I usually don't want to set them to re-record, but
sometimes you just see something on the telly and thing, hmm, like to
see that again, and then it's annoying when it doesn't record after
all... (yes I know I could spend all my time watching the conflicts
screen and sorting this stuff out, but I'm trying to make my life easier...)
