Could you show an example? Is it a video or directory name?
Is it below the icon, inside the icon, or the title at the top of the
screen?
If a title is too long and there are no whitespaces to break it down over
multiple lines, then the intention is to simply clip it.

Good idea! I will look into this.

You mean the intermediate screen between the folder browser and playing back
the video?

It's actually not a browse screen. You cannot navigate to other videos.
Personally, I like all this metadata to be shown before I start watching a
video. It is also a kind of 'buffer' screen to prevent that the external
video player is immediately started when you make the wrong selection in the
folder browser.

I can think of two alternatives:
1. I keep what I currently have, but I add another key (e.g. play) to start
the video directly from the folder browser;
2. You indeed start the video directly from the folder browser, but
alternative you can also hit the info button to enter a separate screen with
all the metadata. You then need to return from the info screen to the folder
browser to start the video.

I'm an employee of Philips Electronics (http://www.philips.com/), which
means that Philips is the copyright owner of what I've made. Philips
supports me in donating this back to the open source community, but asked me
to include such notice and indicate that we offer it under GPL.
